Oakland Township planning commissioners Michael Bailey and Janine Saputo were focused on preserving their community’s history. The two showed unwavering commitment to that goal by joining in a community wide effort to relocate the historic Flumerfelt barn and rebuild it using traditional 1879 construction methods. Their participation in the Michigan Citizen Planner program armed them with the knowledge and tools they needed to help develop a master plan that preserves resident values and historic resources while still meeting the development needs of their community.
